Baby Breaking

Beckner Farms offers comprehensive training for your horse with their yearling breaking program which is designed to give your youngster a little education in all aspects needed to become a successful race horse.

Some of Oregon's most successful horses have gone though this program, including Champions Yess, Cymaria and Putzpasser.

Bob Beckner trains both quarter horses and thoroughbreds and competes at all the Oregon tracks. We take pride in our program in every way - from competent baby breakers, exercise persons, caring grooms, good farriers and top riders to the best feeds available. In addition to daily care and exercise, your horse's mental well-being is important to us and our staff. We try to incorporate a varied exercise program that keeps your horse willing to give you a top effort on the track. In addition to great grooming, hoof care and leg work, we place high importance on your horse's chiropractic needs. No shortcuts are taken here!! Stretches and massages utilized daily.

Successful horse form turnaround stories
Tickles Prince was running poorly for 2500 tag when first brought to our farm in '99 and went on to win many races including two stakes and also set a track record at Grants Pass; 'Tiz Dynamite showed up at Beckner Farms with ten outofthemoney finishes on her form to win first out for Bob and later went on to break a 30 year old track record at Portland Meadows for 4.5 furlongs; Easter Cindy, a thousand dollar quarter horse gelding running very poorly and scheduled for auction turns completely around winning 5 in a row and setting a track record. After many more wins, he later retired healthy, with recognition from AQHA as a Superior Race Horse.

Bob has won multiple combined (quarter horse / thoroughbred) training titles in Oregon and was the Leading Quarter Horse Trainer in Oregon for 2001.
